So I’ve already signed up for the TBR Double Dog Dare (and posted about it here) which means that not only will I be reading solely from books I already own I will not be buying any new books. At all. For three months. Only exceptions are birthday presents and books I pre-ordered before 31 December. I don’t know how much of a difference that’s going to make given I rarely read a book as soon as I buy it, but it should help my credit cards at the very least š
I’ve also decided to sign up for another challenge, the 2015 Horror Reading Challenge hosted by Cornerfolds. I actually signed upĀ for its predecessor last year (see here) but failed miserably; I think (actually I know) I read quite a bit of horror in 2014 andĀ didn’t properlyĀ link it back to the challenge, but as it’s a genre I really enjoy I’m going to try better this year. MyĀ aim to is to be a Brave Reader, which means reading 6-10 books during the course of the year. I’m not going to make a booklist because history demonstrates that way madness lies, but I have several good collections of short stories, Maplecroft by Cherie Priest, and Horns by Joe Hill (which I’m keen to read as I’d like to see the film at some point) on my TBR pile as well as that long-promised Carrie re-read.
I think I can manage that!

Ooohh, I have Horns and also want to snag a copy of Maplecroft. Read Carrie years ago – hope you enjoy your reread. Might have to check out this horror challenge – I have a Stephen King book – follow up to The Shining and also a H Wolfe haunting – perhaps that will push me in the right direction.
Thanks and Happy New Year to you.

Yay!! I’m so excited that you’re participating in the challenge! š Good luck with your goal! I’m terrible with book lists too… I still made some this year, but I’m already doing a terrible job of following them!

Oooh, a horror challenge! I read 6 horror books last year, to my surprise, so I can easily do this one š A list would be fun for us all to laugh at š since I tend to make lists then deviate promptly from them. You always give me good books to look for through them, though!
