Yes, it’s that time of year again when thoughts turn to autumn and Carl hosts RIP, this year for the seventh time. Not a challenge unless you want it to be, this is a celebration of all things ghostly, horrible, mysterious and thrilling.
I intend to participate again this year but am not setting myself any goals, especially as I’ll be spending 2 weeks in Italy where I’m hoping for warmth and sunshine, not usually conducive to shivers up the spine, but you never know.
We’ll just have to see what turns up…..

Is there a small pool of books you are hoping to read? you know how you inspire me so……and Italy would be great fun for horror at night! Mrs Radcliffe, The Monk, etc! lol plus The Historian, if I remember correctly, has some scenes there, but I might be wrong. What about Tim Powers – The Stress of Her Regard? Lots of that book occurs in Italy…then again you might be wanting to escape to pure sun and light, so no horror for while…..have fun on the trip, and I look forward to seeing what you read! 😀

I’ve not really thought too much about books for Italy. Because four of us are travelling together I’m packing light (for me at least) so no physical books, only what I have downloaded to the Kindle app on my iPad. One or two creepy things there. But I’m home for the whole f October so might do a reading list for then. Your list looks great, I’ve read a few of them and I think you’ll enjoy!
